Acrylic silkscreen on slate, NFC chip

This series is an extension of the video of the same name. Fossils dating from the Triassic period are taken from Monte San Giorgio in Switzerland, where the film was shot. In collaboration with the Museum of Fossils from Monte San Giorgio, these were entirely digitised and transcribed onto slate in acrylic. This fine black rock forms almost the entire geology of the mountain, from which the fossils were extracted by palaeontologists, who painstakingly scraped away layer by layer for months on end. The speed of the silkscreen contrasts with the deep time of the climatic eras.
