Synthetic musk on bronze

This sculpture is made up of antlers from different parts of the world and from different geological periods. Inspired by hunting trophies, the antlers here seem to crawl along the ground, and have a strong presence in space through the scent they give off. The synthetic musk with which it is coated is a chemical compound used in laboratories since the late nineteenth century as an alternative to musk deer. It is a celebration of crossbreeding, hybridity and perpetual mutation.
